| I would like to share a few comments from some parents that have attended our camps: |
| Steve Wende
Just a brief note of thanks from overseas. I am currently in Iraq and spoke to my sons Nicholas and Matthew yesterday via Skype video. They raved about how great baseball camp was, held up their medals for me, and said how much fun the coaches were. My wife says that all this weekend, when they have been playing baseball in our backyard, all they do is talk about the "cutoff" etc. I had seen your camp last year and asked my wife to enroll them as it looked like it was so well run (and my wife now confirms this). As you know she was very hesitant as she did not want to put them in all day, but she said you helped her make it work for them to do a half day, so thanks as I really wanted them to attend. I appreciate that, please also give my thanks to the coaches, and hope to meet you next year. p.s. one of the other Mom's took photos of the closing game and ceremony on Friday and sent it via Iphone to Iraq to me which was really great. |
| Bryant Colon
I felt compelled to send you a note to thank you for the wonderful camp experience my son, Bryant Ramsey Colon (aka Manny Ramirez) had at your camp last week.
Bryant was very pleased and enjoyed working with you and your coaches (especially Don McCormick). Unfortunately, my work schedule did not allow me to attend any of the games last week but I was very proud of Bryant for winning the Best Offensive Player Award in his division. I was wondering if I can ask for your advice. Bryant is 12 years old (going to 8th grade in September). My wife and I are in the process of looking for a high school to enroll him in. He has a 90 average and I'd like to find a school that will challenge him academically but that also has a great sports program. Do you have any suggestions? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. We will continue to monitor your website to see about upcoming programs that we can enroll Bryant in. |
| Guido Dom Joseph played in a Manhasset "pickup" game las night. First at bat he hit a ball into left field and ran it into a home run. He prepared to round third in the "banana curve" And didn't stop for a second. The coach asked him; "where did you learn to run like that" Joe said; "Dom Scala" Thank you! See you at the next camp. |
| Sal LoDuca Dear Mr. Scala, First, I just wanted you to know that both Peter and Giuseppe had the best time at your camp this summer. Giuseppe is showing great confidence in his game and is playing well this summer on his Williamsport team. Peter also tries to absorb as much as he can and I know he learns so much during his time there. Second, my wife had mentioned that you might be holding a more intensive mini camp towards the end of the summer in Port Washington? If so, please send me information or any other registration forms you may have at your convenience. Again thank you for making part of my kids' summer so enjoyable as well as improving their game. |
| Marylou and Larry King Dear Mr. Scala, We felt compelled once again to commend you and your staff for an extraordinary job in regards to this years camp in Garden City. Your coaches are top notch. They have to best interests of the kids at heart. The ratio of participants to instructors is a big reason why you as so successful. That, combined with an environment that motivates the kids, makes your camp number 1. You cover all the basics in detail which builds a foundation for future development. We find it hard to believe that there could be a better run camp besides yours anywhere in the area. Keep up the excellent work. |
| Kieran and Christian Farrell Dear Mr. Scala, Just wanted to let you know that we have moved to South Florida. My boys got so excited when they saw the mailer from you about Fall camp. I had to tell them that it was in NY and they weren;t going!! Thank you for all the great camp experience they got. It;s too bad there isn't a good camp down here, or at least that i know of. In any event thank you and Good Luck. Sincerely, the Farrell's |
| Walter Picht Hello Dom, This is Walter Picht, Nicholas's dad. I would like to say thank you for all you did in the early years of his baseball development and how you followed up on his progress. Nicholas was selected for the JV baseball team at Regis High School. |
| Bryan Edwards Massapequa H.S.,I wish to extend my thanks to you, all the coaches and staff at the camp this past week.It was good insight on all the coaching tips handed down to me and hopefully in the future all that knowledge will help me in my game. |
| Anthony Fanizzi Islip Terrace, NY, Mini Camp, HI coach Scala, I had an amazing expieriance at your camp and working with you and your staff, I feel like i learned more about the college game. Thank you for the knowledge and the expieriance. I am looking forward to going to the camp in October and also looking forward to hopefully attending Adelphi University.. |
| Jerry Lawrence New Hyde Park, NY, High School Mini Camp, My son began playing competitive baseball when he was five. I know that every parent, who loves Baseball, believes that they just might have the next Sandy Koufax or Mickey Mantle strapped into the car seat right next to them. Whether he becomes a great player or just another Baseball fan is not important. You love the game and your son, so you follow the dream.
I have followed his dream to the tune of thousands of dollars and thousand of miles and attended every "elite" showcase and baseball factory on the Internet for 12 years. We came to One on One Baseball on the advice of a coach. I have never experienced a camp like yours. All of your coaches are baseball people. Every single boy at the camp got an opportunity to show their talent. The organization was excellent. There was no standing around. Everyone got plenty of pitches to hit and innings to pitch. The on-field coaching was continuous. Each batter and pitcher received pitch by pitch instruction and encouragement. I thought the fields would be a total washout after yesterday's storms, but each diamond was in perfect condition. Congratulations to you and your staff and to One On One Baseball. |
JOE DIAZ,"HI DOM, JUST WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW MY SON HAD A GREAT TIME AT YOUR CAMP.HE WAS WITH THE ROOKIES FOR TWO WEEKS AND I FEEL HE LEARNED ALOT. I THOUGHT THE COACHES DID A GREAT JOB!! I KNOW IT'S TOUGH KEEPING THERE ATTENTION AT THAT AGE AND YOUR GUYS WERE PATIENT. MY SON, RAY DIAZ, WON MOST IMPROVED AFTER HIS SECOND WEEK AT THE CAMP. THANKS FOR NOTICING HIM, HE LOVES TO PLAY BALL!!!!!!, MAYBE SOMEDAY AT ADELPHI!!! YA NEVER KNOW." |
| Al Tiseo, Whitestone,NY. Winter Camp Jan 2007 Baseball Plus "Dom just writing to thank you and Bob for all the help you gave Anthony. In three weeks you guys turned him into a dominate hitter. He has got a great chance to make the St. Francis Prep team. We will see you in the summer at one of your One on One Baseball camps. You run a great show and I highly reccommended you to everyone. I wish we knew of your camps sooner. Before your camp he did ok but nothing like he does now, he's crushing the ball and hitting everything thrown at him. Thanks again" |
| Michael Galeotafiore, New York. "I just wanted to say thank you again for your time and the tips you showed me at your camp [Mini Camp 2007]. I am the type of player that always tries to improve my game and I learned a couple of valuable things to help me do that from you and your staff." |
| Linda Schupke, New York. "My son Christopher attended your camp for 2 weeks [August 2006] this summer at OLH. He enjoyed it so much that's all he talks about (even with the hit in the nose). He can't wait until December (hope you are having your winter clinic -- he attended last year). You and your coaches are great with the kids and that really makes a parent feel confident that their kids are well taken care of and safe. Many thanks to Yolanda too - she's terrific." |
| Ellen Zeises, New York. "Thanks for another great week of baseball camp [June 26th 2006]. Zachary really enjoyed himself. The morning skills and drills were great and he enjoyed the afternoon games. I am happy he was able to work on his pitching as well. Your staff is so wonderful and kind, The way they encourage the boys is so refreshing to watch. You truly have a terrific bunch over there at Adelphi." |
| Donna Jurman, Whitestone,NY. "My son Michael Attended 2 weeks last summer at Adelphi. We will be registering him again this summer. I think the mini camp is a great idea, and we would consider putting him in that as well..... Your one on one baseball camp is great! My husband and I can not get over that almost a year later that Michael remembers everything that was taught to him and how well he is playing!" |
| Debbie Lentino, a Flushing resident has 2 sons that have been students for 4 years. I can honestly say that there is no better camp for our sons, When Dom and his staff are on that field they are constantly teaching different aspects of the game. At the camp organization is a key and they never waste time on the field. You can tell Dom loves the kids and enjoys seeing their improvement. Many of this teammates from his CYO team enjoy the camp as well." |
Michelle Runza, Cresskill, NJ. "My son Christian is an avid athlete. His dream is to be a professional baseball player. It takes me at least an hour to get there, but it doesn?t matter as long as he enjoys it. At Dom's camp he learns so much each day. He loves the new friends he makes and enjoys talking about what he learns on the drive home." |
John Scuderi, Old Brookville, NY. "My son john has been with Dom and his staff since he was 11 years old. In the past 2 years my son has learned tremendous fundamentals of the game as well as drills which I have brought back for my own team as a coach. Dom is patient and he and his staff are completely hands on with the kids. The are instructors who cater to the specific needs of each child. There is no other camp I would send my son or recommend for my team." |
I would like to share a Letter from one of our parents whos son attended our camp. |

Frist Ever Mini Camp |
| Jim Imparato, New York. First I have to compliment you on a terrific camp at Aldelphi campus last week. My son Anthony Imparato has still not stopped talking about it. Although he is only 13 he has attended many different camps from many good instructors but felt yours was the best. At first with the age difference he though he would not get to play with the older group but truly felt he belonged. I thank you for making him feel that way.... Again thank you for a great job. |
